Our business concept is all about helping our customers celebrate each special event and occasion with the perfect card, gift and wrap. Wild stores have a large range of exclusive products not available elsewhere in Australia, which is one of the key benefits of being part of the WH Smith group, we give our franchisees access our own products at lower prices. Current running at an average product profit margin of 59% which improved trading terms with our local supplier partners, so with addition of our exclusive high margin product, Wild store profitability is sure to increase.

One of our major points of difference along with exclusive product, is our stores wrapping service, where customers can get their gifts wrapped as part of our Wild service. Wild stores have become a destination for all things wrap.
The business model is set up perfectly for owner operators who are passionate and motivated about their customers and the products we sell. Owning and running your own Wild store is not overly labour intensive; however the more time and effort you put into your store, the more you will get out of it.

With a low franchise fee of 4% + GST, no marketing fees and a low franchise fee of $42,000 + GST we offer our franchisees our competitors simply cannot. The level of support we offer our franchisees is second to none, from training and store operations to stock selection, marketing and promotions, all of which is covered by the low 4% franchise fee.

Through supplier funded national marketing program all stores receive monthly in store promotional material plus major campaigns focused around our major seasonal events, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day & Christmas.
Wild stores operate a centralised integrated stock management and Point of Sale program, thus providing a technology and information based edge over our competitors.

When you’re comfortable and want to move forward we will send you a letter of offer, essentially letting us know you would like to become a Wild Cards & Gifts franchisee and is the green light for us to look for a suitable site.


Upon receiving your completed Application Form and signed Letter of Offer plus deposit, we will begin looking for a suitable site in your preferred location on your behalf… be aware this can take a little bit of time to find the right location


We have found you a site that you are happy with, now we will issue with you Franchise Agreement and lease for you to review and sign


You are ready to GO! We will begin with training and setting up your store, providing support with layout, construction and pre and post aspects of store opening procedures.

How much is the initial Franchise Fee?
The Franchise Fee for a single site is $42,000 + GST

Do I pay any other fees on an ongoing basis?
Yes, there is an ongoing royalty fee of 4% of your gross weekly sales the lowest in our industry.

How much will I make?
The profitability of a Wild Cards & Gifts store is subject to many variables including location, product mix and the skill of the franchisee in running the business. Potential Wild Cards & Gifts franchisees must seek independent financial advice in deciding if it is an appropriate investment for them.

How much startup capital do I need to become a Wild Franchisee?
As a guide typical investment in our business range from $200,000 to $300,000 including stock + approximately $20,000 to $30,000 in working capital (or cash flow).

What training will I receive and what does it cost?
Wild Cards & Gifts give you initial on the job training at an existing Wild store starting 4-6 weeks from your store opening covering all aspects of our business then on an ongoing basis once your store is open. There is now additional charge for training as this is covered in the initial franchise fee.

Who selects the site for my store?
Wild’s Franchise Business Manager will help identify and approve all store sites. They will assist with lease negotiations and oversee store construction and fit-out as well help when it comes time to renew your lease.

What is the length of my Franchise Agreement?
Wild Cards & Gifts offers an initial period of 5 years with an option to renew for a further period.

Can I own more than one Wild store?
Yes you can, provided you have the financial resources and have the necessary skills to take on multiple stores.

What is an ideal size for a Wild Cards & Gifts store?
Store sizes range from 72m2 to 150m2, however our ideal size is around the 100m2 mark.

Can I buy a Wild franchise but not run the store?
Our experience suggests that to be successful and to get the best return on investment you must be directly involved in the day-to-day management of your business. The more you are willing to put into a business the more you will get out of it.
