The Todd Mall shop is large, with mezzanine office space, and storage plus kitchen in the back. The Hilton shop is recently refurbished and expanded with store room, new floors and new lighting. Well established relationships with various tour groups

About the Business
Suits a single manager, or a couple. The company could be run with two people and a few casuals. We have a small team of casual staff; they usually can run the shops independently after a few weeks training.
Customers are locals lookig for gifts and tourists. We sell a unique large range of Aboriginal prints on fabric, plus licensed giftware from a few of the larger wholesalers.
Our difference is we have a lot of locally made products, unique for Alice Springs, made with our fabrics. Stylish and inviting, our shop is often described as a bit quirky, as besides fabrics and giftware we also sell locally made jewellry, photography and bush medicines.
Areas of expansion are more local products, higher end giftware, other hotel locations.
History
Established more than 25 years ago it was for many years a sewing and hberdashery shop, with some Aboriginal fabrics as well. When we took over about 12 years ago we moved to a better location (in fact the best location in teh Todd Mall), expanded the range and focused advertsing on Aboriginal Fabris solely. We cut the sewing services and are building down the haberdashery side as well. We have an excellent knowledge on what sells and what doesn't. We established great connections with tourism operators.
