Skills

Hours
Generally 5 days per week from 7am to 3pm. Occasionally courses can be run on weekends to meet client special needs.

Employees
Owner/Sole Trader operates the business. Has an accredited trainer who is contracted on a 'day basis' on average of 1 to 2 days per week. This arrangement has worked very successfully for mover 3 years, will continue if desired by new owner.
Reason for Sale
Current owner wishes to retire from full time work. Currently I am 75 years of age, very active and enjoying the work. Howecer, have a desire to withdraw and pursue other family and travel interests. Business is absolutely debt free and all expenses are transparent and static over time so expoected income varies little from year to year. Currently operating at near capacity simply because asa Sole Trader I am working the hours I wish to work while achieving desired income.
About the Business
The business provides training for workers (nad supervisors) in the construction and mining industries. Training leads to either a mandatory licence (e.g. licence to operate a forklift) or to nationally recongnised Statement of attainment (e.g. Work sfaely at Heights).
All our courses are in high demand as they are directly related to trades servicing building, construction and mining sectors. For example, paiters, plumbers, elctrician all use elevating platforms in their work. We provide training for these operators. Similarly, there is great demand for training for operators of telescopic materials handlers and forklifts.
Our most popular current courses include: High Risk Work licence courses for over 11m Boom EWPs and for Foklifts, Working Safely at Heights, Enter and Work in Confined Spaces, Work as a Safelty Observer, Conduct manual handling and so on.
We have premises for training at Hexham and at Mayfield West. These are set up for delivery of courses and are currently operating. They have all the necessary furniture, amenities, training resoiurces (e.g. large screen TV, laptops, whitebourd, safety harnesses etc) and access to all required plant (e.g. EWPs, Forklift, racking, telehandler etc) that is required.
New owner will have the option of either or both premises, the option of purchasing or not purchasing the resoursces. Mayfield West premises are approx total of 244m2 of airconditioned office space and high roof warehouse. Lease is up for renewal in June 2026 with 2 year option.
Hexham premises are occupied under a MOU arrangement that has been in place for 12 years and is pre-approved to continue.
History
Business started in the cameron pak area almost 20 years ago. Moved to the current location at Hexham 12 years ago. Two years ago expanded to seconf premises at Mayfield West due to an increase in demand for training not easily povided at Hexham. Current owner wishes to retire, so is seeking someone to take over the small but highly respected and professional.
