There are a number of steps in the process to becoming a Jim:
Make an enquiry either by calling or filling out the online enquiry form and a Regional Franchisor will contact you to discuss your enquiry.
A detailed Information pack will be sent for your information.
Where the Regional Franchisor following initial discussions believes you are suited to a Jim’s Mowing franchise you will be invited to an interview and information session.
Following a successful Interview session arrangements will be made for you to spend 1 or 2 days in the field with a trainer.
If successful:
a. You will attend the 6 day training course held at our National Office
b. At the completion of this training, you are able to sign a Franchise Agreement and purchase your Franchise business
Commence operating business.
You will no doubt have a number of questions, please jot them down, and the Regional Franchisor can answer them through the process.

Last year our Mowing Division knocked back 59,390 leads because all local operators were flat out. Many Franchisees start with an established round, and those who do not get a Work Availability Guarantee which pays up to $1500 per week for doing free promotional work. Unlike most such guarantees, this one does not cut out after a set period. In practice, most Franchisees never claim since work is plentiful from the beginning.
At Jim’s we put Franchisees first, and this is more than a slogan. Franchisees are entitled to ongoing regular meetings, fast response to their calls, and regular pro-active calls to provide coaching and advice. Also, initial training is provided to give you the required skills.
We are looking for people who want to start being rewarded for their own hard work. You will be someone who is willing to attend the initial training and take advantage of the step-by-step Jim's system.
Follow our step-by-step systems to grow a successful business and you will find there is no limit to the length of agreement. We poll Franchisees each year to check that proper service is being provided, and Franchisees with problems are invited to go direct to our founder, Jim Penman. Jim’s is the only Franchise system in the world that allows Franchisees to change to another Franchisor or even vote them out, if not happy with the service they receive.

Jim Penman started a part-time gardening business while earning his PhD in history at Latrobe University. He launched a full-time mowing business in 1982 with a $24 investment. He originally aimed only at taking on subcontractors, but his business grew and he gradually began to specialise in the building up and selling of lawn mowing rounds.
By 1989 he franchised his business, and since then Jim’s Mowing has become the largest franchise chain in Australian and the largest and best-known lawn mowing business in the world.
