About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to establish and operate a SailTime Base on Port Phillip Bay - Sandringham (our 5th) with an established international marine brand.
SailTime provides a unique membership-based boating model that generates recurring income throughout the year.
Importantly, the first yacht for the Melbourne Base has already been secured, significantly reducing the normal start-up requirement for a new Base Owner.
THE POTENTIAL
The opportunity is to launch the first SailTime Base in Melbourne and progressively grow the local fleet to 3–5 yachts /powerboats.
The Base Owner will receive an exclusive operating territory together with SailTime systems, training, marketing support and established operating procedures.
The business can operate as a standalone lifestyle business or complement an existing marine, brokerage, training or boat-management business.
Base owners will typically have a working week of around 10-12 hours plus be on call as required.
THE BUSINESS
Founded in Australia in 2009, SailTime makes regular boating more affordable and hassle-free through its unique Owner-Investor and Membership models.
SailTime Australia currently operates four bases and is part of an international network of more than 30 locations.
Members pay regular fees for access to professionally managed sailing yachts and powerboats, creating recurring income for the local Base operation.
YOUR INVESTMENT
Initial franchise fee: approximately $20,000–$25,000, depending on territory.

Marketing support
The base owner will be responsible for local marketing, with SailTime Australia providing templates, brochures, a central website for enquiries and promotion of SailTime's unique membership program, plus all ongoing support as needed for open days, boat shows and other events.
Training provided
As a franchisee, you will receive full training in the operation of our proprietary online scheduler and operating systems and in onboarding new members.
You will also have access to ongoing advice and assistance to help you make your base a success and to help you secure additional members and owner investors.
Skills
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a genuine passion for boating and holds a current boating license
• Is commercially minded and keen to grow a business
• Enjoys working with customers
• Can build relationships with members, boat owners and marine suppliers
Marine industry experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
