About the Business

This business started the way a lot of good construction companies do. A plumber decided he wanted to run his own show, and in 2014 he did exactly that.
Twelve years on it employs 29 full time staff, holds Triple ISO certification, and works for clients who do not hand contracts to just anyone: Defence, TransGrid, Healthscope, RSL Lifecare, Sydney Water, HCF, Ausgrid and Telstra, plus hospitals, schools and facilities management providers.
The service offering has grown deliberately. A builder joined in 2018, opening the door to Defence work and a dedicated Civil team. An Electrical division followed in 2024. What began as a single-trade plumbing outfit is now a four-discipline operation (plumbing, building, civil and electrical) each run by its own manager.
The owner is straightforward about why he is selling. He has a growing family, already owns two businesses in other sectors, and wants to step back from construction full time.
It would suit an experienced construction operator, or an incoming managing director who wants an accredited, staffed, client backed platform rather than a standing start.
Working for government departments and tier one clients is a barrier to entry in itself - it takes accreditation, trained people, and HSEQ systems that stand up to audit. It completes more than 2,000 reactive maintenance jobs a year on top of larger project work, and has held that position for years.
The team is the asset. Each discipline is run by its own manager, staff carry the tickets the client base demands, and a manager already runs day-to-day operations.
Because of the ISO framework, the business runs on documented procedures rather than what sits in the owner's head - the difference between buying a job and buying a company.
The Kirrawee facility gives the business 600sqm of recently fitted-out factory and office space, with the fleet and plant to support it. No fit out is required, and the lease has a five year option.
New work has come almost entirely from word of mouth, doing the right thing and doing what you say you will do, with no meaningful spend on lead generation.
