Potential

Significant upside for an owner who can instruct. Bring MCC and airline-interview training in-house to capture margin currently paid to contractors. Grow the high-margin F/A-18 VR line and the corporate team-building channel (BHP, Chevron and Western Power have all attended). Reactivate the 4,000+ customer database and 5.0-star reputation through the existing AI-driven marketing. No franchise fees since going independent, and training demand rises as airline hiring recovers. Scope to extend hours and add school and tourism programs.

Skills

Best suited to an ex-airline or commercially licensed (CPL) pilot who can personally deliver the training and experiences, removing contractor costs. No prior business-ownership experience needed: the operation is fully automated (Shopify, Xero, Stripe, custom booking and AI marketing) and documented with checklists for the simulator, shop floor and cleaning. Customer-service and basic marketing skills help. Existing staff, including pilots, can stay on to support a smooth handover.

Hours

Flexible booking-led hours, typically 7 days by appointment. Low owner hours thanks to automation and admin support.

Lease

3-year lease from November 2025 with a further 3-year option. Fitted-out venue in Northbridge, minutes from Perth CBD.

Employees

Six on the books: five pilots (including two airline pilots who deliver training) and one administrator. The team can remain through and beyond the transition, giving a new owner continuity and immediate training capacity.

Reason for Sale

The owner is selling to prioritise other family commitments. The demanding, expensive work of going independent from the franchise and securing the business's own CASA Part 142 approval is complete, so it is offered as a fitted-out, approved and automated operation ready for a new owner to take forward. A genuine sale, with the team available to stay on and support a smooth handover.

About the Business

FlightX is a fully independent, turnkey flight-simulation and pilot-training business in Northbridge, minutes from the Perth CBD. The centrepiece is a commercial-grade Boeing 737-800 full-cockpit simulator with a 190-degree curved visual system, meticulously maintained with full records, monthly checks and a PacSim (manufacturer) support contract. The business also operates F/A-18 VR flight simulators and a retail and ecommerce pilot shop.
Revenue comes from a diversified mix: Boeing 737 flight experiences (30 to 90 minutes), CASA Part 142 Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) training, airline interview preparation, F/A-18 VR missions and dog-fighting, Junior Jets for younger flyers, fear-of-flying programs, corporate and group team-building events, and the pilot shop. Blue-chip corporates including BHP, Chevron and Western Power have run events here, and most major Perth radio stations have broadcast from the cockpit.
The business has a strong, recognised brand with more than 4,000 customers on the database and a 5.0-star rating from 246 Google reviews. It disconnected from the Flight Experience franchise in December 2025, so it carries no franchise fees and owns its brand, domain, social channels and customer data outright.
It is built to run efficiently. The back office is highly automated and documented: Shopify and Xero for ecommerce and bookkeeping, Stripe for payments, a custom self-service booking platform (which replaced Tripworks and its 5% revenue fee, now about $100 per month), AI-driven marketing, SharePoint document control, and full checklists for the simulator, shop floor and cleaning. A team of six (five pilots, including two airline pilots, plus an administrator) can stay on for a smooth handover.
The sale includes the business and company (ABN), the brand and all social assets, the plant and equipment (independently valued at around $180,000, with the simulator alone valued at $141,750), the fitted-out premises on a 3-year lease plus a 3-year option, stocked retail and supplier relationships, and the CASA Part 142 training approval, which is migratable to the new owner. Asking $60,000 to $80,000, well below asset value.
Ideally suited to an ex-airline or commercially licensed pilot who can deliver the training in-house, or an investor seeking a ready-made, high-profile aviation experience business. A full information memorandum, financials and equipment schedule are available on request under a confidentiality agreement.

History

The Boeing 737 simulator was originally built and commissioned by PacSim (Pacific Simulators) in 2008, and comprehensively upgraded to Boeing 737-800 NG specification in 2018. The business operated under the Flight Experience franchise before completing a clean break in December 2025 to trade independently as FlightX, with its own brand, booking platform, customer database and CASA Part 142 training approval. It has since added F/A-18 VR simulators, automated its systems and built a 5.0-star reputation across 246 reviews.
