The focus is on high-quality contemporary work across a broad range of styles, rather than limiting the gallery to one traditional aesthetic.
The business operates predominantly on a consignment model, which allows a substantial collection of artwork to be offered for sale without requiring the owner to fund all inventory upfront. The gallery currently holds approximately $650,000 worth of consignment artwork, providing an incoming owner with an established body of work and immediate sales potential. The idea for Yungarra took shape during COVID, when curiosity about Noongar history and culture led to months of learning and a belief there was room for a different kind of Aboriginal art gallery. The name Yungarra was chosen with the guidance and approval of a local Elder, giving the business a meaningful connection to the region. It later launched online, building strong sales before opening in Dunsborough. Three summers ago, close to $125,000 of art sold in two months, revealing the gallery’s potential.
