Thriving BiRite electrical store with reliable sales, loyal customers & prime main-street location. A rare chance to acquire a proven regional performer with growth upside.
$102,000 pa
92 Maitland Street
Located in the heart of Narrabri’s bustling Maitland Street retail precinct, BiRite enjoys high visibility, steady foot traffic and a strong regional catchment across the North West NSW community.
BiRite Narrabri is a standout opportunity to acquire a high-performing, long-established electrical and appliance retailer with 60+ years of trading history, strong community reputation, and consistent $1.4m annual revenue. As part of the BiRite national reseller network, buyers gain access to BiRite's $100m+ national buying power, online promotional marketing, preferred supplier agreements and the in-store Jaycar partnership, all without on-going franchise fees or long-term lock-in contracts.
The business is seen as an essential service in the community, providing a broad product mix across whitegoods, air conditioning, cooking appliances, small appliances, and electrical accessories at competitive prices. Customers present with high purchase intent and clear requirements, most often with a need for urgent replacements, home relocation or are local businesses. Immediate availability of stock in Narrabri is the differentiating factor against the competitors, which allows for quick, simple sales and high turnover of stock on hand.
Narrabri itself is a compelling investment backdrop. The region is experiencing strong economic momentum, with Gross Regional Product increasing from $870 million in 2014 to $3.75 billion in 2024, and total output exceeding $5.9 billion annually—representing 9% average annual growth, outpacing regional NSW. Major projects including the $3.6 billion Santos Gas Project, Whitehaven’s mine expansion, $1.8 billion+ in Inland Rail upgrades, and a government-backed plan for 2,000+ new homes which underpins long-term demand. Narrabri Shire's stable population of ~12,800 residents reinforces the area’s retail resilience, and lower risk of competition from large discount or online retail chains.
BiRite Narrabri’s business model provides key competitive advantages:
- Stock is immediately available with pick up the same day, or fast delivery
- Competitive prices on trusted brands, supported by BiRite and Jaycar head office agreements
- High customer service from well-respected members of the community
This opportunity is ideally suited to an owner-operator with retail or operational experience, or an investor comfortable overseeing a capable team. Hands-on engagement and local presence are key to maximising performance of the business.
As part of the BiRite national network, the business benefits from established supplier relationships, online advertising campaigns, seasonal promotions, digital marketing, and point-of-sale materials. Local area marketing is fully within your control, allowing you to tailor outreach to the Narrabri community and drive growth through personalised service and strong regional understanding.
The store manager and sales assistant are planned to continue with the business. A comprehensive handover will be provided by the current owners, primarily covering key relationships, operating and accounting processes, and staff management. Current ownership can also provide assistance in an advisory capacity for a reasonable time period. Additional support is available through BiRite head office, including access to industry updates, merchandising guidance, and onboarding assistance to ensure a smooth transition for incoming owners.
No electrical or technical qualifications are required, however an interest in electrical goods is highly recommended. Ideal buyers will have experience in retail and small-business management. Strong commercial acumen, people leadership, and a commitment to emersing yourself in the community will set you up for success. This opportunity suits both owner-operators and investors with strong management skills.
The business benefits from ongoing supplier arrangements and national buying power without long-term contract lock-ins. All agreements with suppliers, brands, and wholesalers can be transferred to the new owner as part of the sale, providing continuity and operational stability.
