We are the only fulltime business offering cleaning out of sheep manure from under the Shearing Sheds Australia wide via a 6" (150mm) vacuum system. With over 12 months booked up going forward
$873,000 pa
$552,000 pa
$321,000 pa
We are currently based in SA but our work is Australia wide so a new potential future base would be better located east coast states due to the higher number of sheds in that area so less travel. We travel farm to farm providing the service.
We are currently only running one vacuum machine. The sale is for two vacuum machines and two trucks (One truck advertised for sale seperately) Figures listed in Financials are based on one machine. The work is there. We are the most efficent in the industry by far and it doesn't require the customers to assist. We operate independently and when operating remotely, we are self sufficent. If advertise more there would be easily 4-5 years worth of work and the theorectical timeframe for the standard shed for next clean out is every 5 years.
Some mechanical knowledge would be benificial as we work sometimes remotely but we run a very strict preventative maintainence schedule to avert these potential issues. The operators under the shed, no skill set is required and if need be you could cut the onground staff from (currently three) down to two.
The work is very simple and easy 99% of the time
We work a 10.5 hrs billable day (onsite at 6am, finish at 5pm, 1/2 hour for lunch) 6 days a week. Your Hrs are optional
Currently we run two guys under the shed and one on the vac machine. The two guys rotate the work so they are not too tired out over the course of the day.
Most work is east coast based and travel is the main reason. I'm too long away from home. we normally do a four week stint away. Home for one or two weeks and then go again. The reason we do four week stint is to offset the travel costs over more days so its not as expensive for the customer.
We remove the sheep manure from under the shearing sheds. We also clean out the bottom of tanks (The sludge) and suck up grain spills.
We work 6 days a week when we are away but the hours you want to work is entirely up to the owner. We do 10.5 hour billable days. We charge travel and accommodation per day. When you turn up to one property, there is a good chance that you may do the whole district while you are there as our services are not that common. Many times we arrive to a town to do a couple of sheds and stand for two or three weeks doing the districts sheds.
Its an essential service (Animal care) so during Covid, we where just as busy. It didn't slow us down. If the manure is too long under the shed the ammonia can kill the sheep if it is that bad so hence the essential service to keep the manure down to a manageable level.
These machines can move upwards to 12 CBM per hour of loose, dry, easy access (1 metre of clearance or greater). We can clean under sheds that are only 4" off the ground. We use a figure of 7 cbm per hour to give customers a guesstimate of costs. We either work to a customers budget or keep going until it is all removed. Some sheds can take a few hours, other sheds can take a week.
If you dont mind working, you can turn over some decent $$, its entirely up to you on how much you operate.
You can be based anywhere in Australia and operate this business as it does require travel. You get to see alot of Australia that not many people get to see.
Ive been operating in SA for 6 years now and we haven't had less that 18 months worth of sheds booked in (Based on approx 3 per week on average) for over 6 years. (Based on 1 machine operating)
We can suck dry material over 50 metres from the machine so you dont need to be right next to the shed
We are selling the equipment and opportunity. The business name is not for sale as we run other business under this name as well.
These machine are unique. All the IP is in the fans. They are not an off the shelf product. They have been customer made.
They were originally designed to suck up coal from under conveyor belts in the Hunter region and they evolved into manure sucking machines. That started back in around 2010. Again the turnover is directly associated with how much you want to work. We normally take 6-8 weeks off over Xmas / New Year. If you work out our cycle (3-4 weeks away, 2 week off), we are only operating for approx 30 weeks of the year.
