As a SportsPower store owner, you’ll benefit from the strength of a national brand supported by comprehensive marketing programs. Our in-house team delivers fully integrated campaigns across TV, radio, digital, social media, and print, ensuring high visibility and consistent customer engagement. You’ll also receive access to customisable local area marketing materials, giving you the flexibility to connect with your community while staying aligned with national messaging.
New store owners are supported every step of the way with a comprehensive induction program and ongoing business development support. This includes guidance on store setup and design, brand standards, visual merchandising, and seasonal product planning. You'll also receive training in our POS and ecommerce systems, access to supplier programs, and ongoing promotional calendars. In 1978, a group of 8 independent sporting retailers had the foresight to see an opportunity and the courage to go for it. They formed a co-operative called ‘Sports Star’. Their idea was simple – operating as a group offered greater advantages than trying to survive as individual retailers.
So successful was this new strategy that other independent retailers wanted to get on board and with a rapid growth in membership came a new name ‘City & Country Sports’ which in 1985 became SportsPower.
