Daily operations of the business have been wound back due to this, so yearly profits will show a decline recently as he has not been actively seeking out new clients or sales reps & limited advertising. About the Business
Tomas Jewellery is an importer & wholesale distributor of Sterling Silver 925 Jewellery within Australia.
We source our Silver mostly from Thailand but also India & Bali. Our products include both plain silver jewellery & also real stone jewellery set in Sterling Silver. We are selling not only the goodwill that has been established over the years with those manufacturers but also the contacts in those countries who supply our products.
Included in the sale is an organized inventory system, display stands and racks, jewellery backing cards, existing website, MYOB filing and invoicing system linked directly to the website, thousands of pictures of stock and many more items which can be discussed. Our current value is $70,000 to $90,000 including the existing market stand.
Stock includes many popular top selling designs in earrings, rings, necklaces and more. As well as many things not displayed on our website currently but could easily be sold as stock. The good thing about silver is that you never have to throw it away, you can always melt it and get at least 60% of your money back, if not more, depending on market value. Current stock value is $70,000 to $100,000.
Our clients are gift shops, jewellers, chemists and newsagents to name a few. We are a known brand within Australia. Our items are displayed on jewellery cards printed with our logo and on stands designed for us.
We currently have three sales representatives in Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. They visit our stores directly in their areas and carry samples of our products which customers can buy directly or place an order with them to have shipped from our small warehouse in Queensland. They are paid on a commission only basis which is a percentage of their sales each month.
One casual employee which currently completes administration and bookkeeping, along with website maintenance, photography, newsletter email marketing and packing and shipping orders. Along with the general aspects of running a business including stock take ect. They are paid on a casual basis per hour in line with the award rates.We are open to a more detailed discussion regarding keeping any existing staff or you can run the business entirely yourself.
The current owner is planning on spending more time in Thailand and will be close to the businesses there who currently supply the silver jewellery. He has a great rapport with them and is happy to assist the new owners with any initial introductions or buying and explaining how the process works.
History
Tomas Jewellery was first started in 1984 as a franchisee of a US company. It quickly developed into its own brand within Australia and went its own way. Initially the owner was the only sales representative and did a lot of traveling in search of new clients, as well as maintaining relationships and orders for existing clients. As the buiness grew the need for staff did also. For many years Tomas Jewellery maintained a very profitable stall at the Eumundi Markets before taking a short break and have since set up shop there once again.
