Nothing beats freshly baked food, or coffee made using the freshest beans. That’s why every Muffin Break has its own kitchen, baking throughout the day, so everything we serve is as good as it can be. We’re a local family-owned and operated business. We are proud of the community we serve and love nothing more than to see them leave with a smile on their faces we are always saying hello and having informal chats wherever we go in town. We have built up a lot of friendships with our customers and this connection is never more evident that during the Christmas-New Year period.
The store is a kiosk-format with 360 degree views of the food court and centre. The baker starts at 5am and the aroma of fresh-baked muffins penetrates the centre. Add this to intense aroma of coffee as the barista starts at 7am and you have a perfect recipe to a great day ahead. Being the owner you have total control over the entire process of running the cafe. Every store adopts a national pricing policy with some room to manourvre when introducing new recipes or remaining competitive in the marketplace with all products.
Hinkler Central is the dominant shopping destination in the regional city of Bundaberg, just 360 kilometres north of Brisbane in the Wide Bay-Burnett Region, with Kmart, Coles, Woolworths and over 60 specialty stores all in one convenient location, and there is a selection of fashion, homewares, health and beauty, professional services such as a Doctor’s surgery and a diverse range of eateries in the food court.
On June 9th, 2021 Muffin Break Australia was awarded the prestigious Roy Morgan Coffee Shop of the Year 2020. Muffin Break first opened its doors in Coolangatta, Queensland in 1989. From humble beginnings, there are now over 210 stores in Australia. Our store started when Hinkler Central was established in 2006. We have owned the store since April 2018.
There is an excellent opportunity for energetic owner(s) to gross $800000 p.a.
All marketing is on-going and involves both the franchisor and the shopping centre. Franchise marketing revolves around national campaigns targeted at school holidays, commemorative days and certain national charities with support from a regional marketing consultant and sales consultants. More local campaigns can be arranged with centre management.
Specialised accredited training courses are delivered at Muffin Break’s state of the art Centre of Retail Excellence (CORE), online through Muffin Break’s eLearning and communication portal, at Muffin Break Training Stores and Muffin Break franchise partners’ own business. Visit muffinbreak.com.au for comprehensive information. On site training also is offered to new franchisees.
A franchise cafe is very easy to integrate into for people from a wide range of industries. No special skills or qualifications are necessary however a good mind for finances, people management and teamwork are very useful attributes. The franchise would ideally be suited to a couple with a number of years in employment that requires solid commitment and the desire to succeed, possibly looking for a new challenge and a sound investment opportunity.
Franchise agreements are based on what is negotiated with the centre owners, nominally five years, and new store owners adopt the remainder of the current term. A team of rent renewal experts are available to owners via the franchisor. The process is very simple to follow and usually range upwards from three years to five- or six-year terms.
