By having your own territory to work and market in, there is no competition between Franchisees. We take pride in our cooperative approach in working together. Marketing support

HR Dept provides comprehensive marketing support. This includes the main website at www.hrdept.com.au, a stand-alone landing page, SEO, weekly blogs, monthly newsletters plus a marketing ction plan and much more. All marketing is specifically tailored for each month and supplied. Whether you are trying to promote your own HR workshop or seminar or you’ve spotted an advertising opportunity you can’t miss, you don’t need to re-invent the wheel. We have a bank of ready-made and designed up materials that can be made bespoke with your details.

Training provided

Initial 3 day induction held in the head office in Perth. The induction includes training in marketing, sales, financials, HR Dept model, CRM plus more. The first 6 months includes regular one on one meetings with Business/Sales Coach. Ongoing training including legislation updates with employment lawyers, quarterly meetings with network and attendance at conference.

Skills

HR Generalist or HR Management experience
General business skills including exposure to financials
Ability to prioritise and manage a number of SME clients at the same time
Customer service skills
Microsoft office
Willing to learn CRM and other software
Degree in HRM or similar qualifications

Length of Agreement

The Franchise Agreement is for a 5 year period, with an option for an additional 5 year term.

History

Founded in the UK in 2002, after a gap was identified in the market to offer personalised expert HR advice to local businesses. Two years later, the model was franchised and the company went from strength to strength, with branches opening all over the UK and Ireland.

In 2017, Pia Engstrom became the first HR Dept franchisee in Australia and in 2018 she became a Director and Board Member.

As of October 2020, the HR Dept is now 100% Australian owned by Pia Engstrom and Darren Brandli.

Pia Engstrom was awarded in the Top Franchise Executives in Australia in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
