Marketing support
Our Retail Business Partners and Retailer Training Officers will work with you and provide you with the tools and knowledge to achieve your business goals. During our first few visits to your store, we provide hands on training in your outlet including:
• Stock management and record keeping practices;
• Assistance with business development and marketing plans; and
• Implementation of sales strategies.
Training provided
Before commencing as a Lotterywest retailer, all prospective owners and managers who intend to work in the Lottery Outlet must successfully complete Lotterywest’s ‘Manage a Lottery Outlet’ (MALO) three-day training course. The comprehensive program covers topics such as:
• Managing a lottery business;
• Lotterywest product knowledge;
• Player Safety;
• Terminal operations;
• Interpreting reports; and
• Business development.
Skills
We are looking for applicants with good communication skills, strong customer service approach and experience, business operations and management background, experience with lotteries or similar products, and a good fit with Lotterywest values and brand. Our retailers play a vital role in generating sales, the profits from which are returned to the WA community through our grants program.
Length of Agreement
All Lotterywest retailers operate under a formal Agreement that is specific to the owner, location and business type. The retailer is appointed until 31 December 2031. Lotterywest retailers do not operate under a franchise.
