A HEALTHY ADDICTION
Spudbar was founded in 2000 around the simple promise to create delicious food that's healthy, great value, quick and casual. We discovered the spud was the perfect platform to build a meal around - delicious, filling and much healthier than the typical meal staples of pasta, bread and rice.
Back in 2000 if you wanted something quick, it had to be 'fast food' and fast food was junk food. We created a better tasting and healthier option - people loved it and we continue to refine it.
Why The Gourmet Spud?
We have built an exciting business around this nutrient-rich gem of natural goodness. It's light & fluffy inside with a crispy skin. It has heaps less calories than bread, pasta and rice. And is much lower in calories & fat.
But the real magic comes from how well a baked spud works with a slow-cooked ragu, chilli-bean salsa, avocado & chicken, or creamy tuna melt. Add to this a load of fresh goodies & you have the ultimate in healthy & delicious eating.
Delicious Salads & Spuds from Matt Our Chef...
In 2011 we teamed up with Matt Wilkinson - gun chef, good pal and long-standing Spudbar customer.
Our brief to Matt was this - "unleash your flavour-mastery skills on some killer new spuds, and create serious 'proper meal' salads for Spudbar".
Matt's 'chef's specials' were an overnight success delivering 'hearty pub-style food with rustic, farmer's market goodness'. He's now working on the next range of chef's specials and a general tune up of the whole menu. We hope everyone is enjoying the evolution of Spudbar with Matt in the kitchen.
We currently have 3 company owned stores - Richmond, Hawthorn and Windsor, and 8 franchised stores, Chevron, Doncaster, Fitzroy, Little Bourke St, South Melbourne, St. Kilda, South Yarra and most recently Emporium. We aim to at least double our amount of stores by July 2015. With expansion into WA and ACT already underway.

At Spudbar we pride ourselves on a loyal customer base and that is why we are very excited to launch our loyalty program in August 2014. The Secret Society of Spud! Not only will this reward our customers and ensure relevant and regular communication, but it will also ensure effectiveness of future marketing activities.
