Kumon is the world's largest after-school learning programme with over four million students enrolled across 50 countries and regions.

The Kumon Institute of Education was founded in 1958 in Japan, by Toru Kumon who created what is now the Kumon Maths Programme to help his son improve his ability in maths.

The founding education centre's success in Osaka quickly spread across Japan and in 1974 we began our global expansion. Kumon now operates across the world in countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. Kumon arrived in Australia in 1984.

Through our growth, Kumon still stands firm to Toru Kumon’s founding principle; to help as many children as possible excel academically and realise their potential.

We have a thorough training programme for franchisees before they open their centres, as well as intensive, personalised support after centre opening.
