APCO is an Australian family owned franchise business that was established as an Independent Distributor of petroleum in the late 70’s by Ron & Margaret Anderson. In 1980, the first APCO retail convenience store opened and the company has continued to grow ever since.

APCO have very strong core values and commitment to family and team success and to maintaining their leadership position within in the Convenience Store Industry.

APCO has a strong and loyal customer support in regional Victoria and now operate 25 stores with solid plans for continued growth each year.

APCO stands for the Anderson Petroleum Company and the Anderson family still own the business today.

New Franchisee Training

Growing Your APCO Investment

To be a successful APCO Retailer you need to be

  • Business savvy with financial acumen & a strong desire to work hard to succeed and grow your business
  • Customer service focused and flexible to adapt to meet your customers ever changing needs
  • A highly motivated and positive leader with a willingness to work long term & cooperatively with APCO Service Stations Pty Ltd; 
  • A passionate retailer with a good eye for detail and have experience in the retailing and / or hospitality

Operating a 24/7 business requires your full commitment and at APCO we have found our businesses to be well suited to a hands-on and hardworking couple and/or family that desire to invest in their own business and future.
It is a requirement of APCO that you meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for a Franchise. You must:

  • Have Australian residency
  • Be successful in passing an Australian Federal Police check
  • Be available for a full time, unpaid, twelve-week training program

What are the establishment costs for a new Franchise?

  • Initial Goodwill Investment from $400,000 up to $1,000,000, dependinga on the site and location
  • This includes complete store fit out, all equipment supplied and an initial Franchise fee.

What are other start-up costs?

  • Opening stock at value
  • All training
  • Legal costs
  • Loan costs
  • Business establishment costs

What else is involved and provided?

  • Franchise term is for 10 years (ie; 5 years with a review for a further 5 years)
  • You earn a monthly commission on fuel litres sold (Franchisee does not have to purchase the fuel) and Profit from the store sales and for a % rental of store sales, APCO takes care of the;
    • Power, rates and utilities, all the fit out, equipment & facilities
    • All major repairs & maintenance on equipment
