1. Product
Sink your teeth into a fresh, tender, moist Walker’s Doughnuts doughnut and you know you are eating something special. Not the bland, tasteless rubbish that passes for doughnuts these days. Our hot jam doughnuts will remind you of the roadside vendors that we all remember from the 60s and 70s. Our hot dogs are plump, juicy frankfurters and speciality sausages made with exceptional quality and high meat content rather than the bland tasteless and chemically-laden ‘hot dog imposters’ that try to pass themselves off as the real thing. Our sausages are manufactured by a family-owned business as are our (shapely) buns. You know those old American films with the happy teenagers eating a fresh sweet glazed Doughnut, drinking their Drugstore Milkshake Malts and eating their Diner 10” Hot Dog with all the trimmings, right? THAT’S what our food tastes like!

3. Position
If the site does not meet our approval criteria based on our proprietary templates, we aren’t interested. Every Walker’s site is screened for foot traffic, demographics and profitability. We won’t offer you a site just for the sake of it.

Marketing support

Walker's Doughnuts believes the best marketing tool is customer appreciation of our products and the service they experience. Serving great tasting doughnuts and a great experience is something customers will want to come back to.
Walker's Doughnuts Franchise Partners are expected to carry out local area marketing. At times, marketing may become a coordinated exercise directed by Head Office while other campaigns may be initiated at the discretion of individual Franchise Partners, and must always be approved by the Franchisor.

Training provided

As a Franchise Partner, you will be fully trained by our experienced Walker's Doughnuts Operations team. Initial training is provided by immersing you with in-store training at one of our existing locations. Your training will be supported by our mentoring program and ongoing training is delivered in a number of ways to support you and your team as you build your store. You will never be on your own; Walker's Doughnuts is committed to its Franchise Partners with ongoing support and encouragement.

Skills

Our ultra-simple model is suitable for experienced operators or first-timers with a passion for food and retail. You will need the ability to work in a fast paced environment where customer engagement is crucial. Essentials include a commitment and devotion to your business in the critical first 6 to 12 months.

Other key factors include financial standing, past business & career achievements, great communication skills, a commitment to superb customer service and a willingness to adhere to the system.

History

Walker’s Doughnuts was first officially established by husband and wife team Jim and Rose in 2006 - but our history goes back a lot further. Jim trained as a Food Technologist and is the fourth generation in a long line of bakers and pastry chefs who first began their trade in the 1820s.

Awards

Walker's Doughnuts exclusive coffee blend of coffee 'Black Rose" won the Silver medal in the 2019 Golden Bean awards for its excellent taste, amazing body and richness.
