The management team is very supportive. Both the franchisee and the franchisor spend time with new franchisees to make sure they are competent in customer relations and service. Time is allocated to gaining confidence in selling and expanding the site numbers. Many hours will be dedicated to acheive competence in computer skills and paperwork proceedures. This is an easy business to run by one person. Basically you refill charity snack boxes, collect the money, bank and enter the details into the computer.
The current franchisee will accompany the purchaser for one month to meet all customers. Servicing, stock purchasing and new site placement wiill be covered daily. Franchisor will also spend time with purchaser to cover the same things. The franchisor was a franchisee for many years before becoming the franchisor and is people friendly, knowlegable and great support.
Good personal skills with people are required as you will be dealing with customers every day. A driving licence is required to drive the VW Caddy refrigerated van. Average computed skills are necessary to enter invoices, data entry and emailing.
Length of Agreement
The present franchise agreement is open ended with no recurring fees. The royalty fees paid to the franchisor are calculated on purchases. Stock purchases can only be made at specific wholesalers who then forward a copy of the invoice to Stacks of snacks HQ who calculate the royalties owing. There are no franchise fees payable on purchase, the franchise fee is paid by the exiting franchisee.
About the Opportunity
Stacks of Snacks has been operating in Australia since 2001. The Geelong franchise was commenced in 2002 and the present franchisee purchased the business in 2004 has operated it till now. The business involves placing Lifeline charity snack boxes in work places all over the Geelong and surrounding areas. The daily job is to visit these sites, refill the snack boxes, collect the money and bank. Current sites include schools, childcare centres, government offices, hospitals, private businesses and more. The snacks include funsized chocolate bars, 45gm lolly packets, 45gm chips and medium sized chocolates. The present owner is 65 and looking to retire. The profits are good as a read of the profit/loss will show. There are presently 500 active sites. There is definately room to expand these site numbers and there are plenty of spare boxes for that purpose. This is a job that is conducted in business hours ie, 9 -5, with weekends free. Holidays are taken in the Christmas break when a lot of customers are also on holidays.
