Trading for 4 years now with YoY growth with plenty of upside and potential. Primarily cafe (about 20 seats) & includes retail space and busiest UberEATS catchment in WA.
Walk in Walk out price.
Shop1 471 William Street Street facing shop front on busy William Street. Plenty of foot traffic and street parking in front an surrounding streets.
The space is part cafe with approx. 20 seats and part retail space. A substantial percentage of the business is cafe so a potential new owner could operate solely as a cafe and expect the same returns with year on year growth as we're getting or replace the retail space with more seating for more potential growth. Ubereats has broadened our reach and provides us a catchment that extends from City centre to Mt Lawley and from Subi to East Perth. Limited bagel menu due to no kitchen, so install a kitchen and expand the menu! All upside here.
Current trading 6 days as a cafe and a bike shop. It runs with 2 people during the week and 2 or 3 on weekends when it’s busiest. We’ve got a great reputation for the quality of our coffee and food (Google and Facebook rating of 4.7, plus 5k Instagram following) and have become a destination for many on weekends. Not a chef? Perfect, neither are we - our food is simple to prepare and quick to plate. Only basic cook skills needed for the cafe. To operate as is, bicycle knowledge handy or learn (as we did) on the fly. Barista skills essential.
Currently open 7am - 3pm Tues - Sun. Closed Mon Potential for 7 days a week - our customers would love it!
Current lease expires May 2020. There is an option to extend for a further 5 years
Currently there are no employees other than the two owner operators. We're about to hire a part timer for 24 hours per week to cover weekends and Tuesdays.
Reason for Sale
After owning and operating the business since inception we've decided it's time to move on and try something new. It's been 4 years, we began with nothing and built it to a great little business. The plan was always to sell at about the 4 or 5 year mark. We're simply sticking to the plan. Our hope is that someone will purchase it, make it their own and take it to the next level! I live locally so would love to see it keep growing and evolving.
About the Business
We're busy daily with coffee and bagels in store and on UberEATS. Its particularly busy from 7.30am to 9.30am before it slows a little before lunch. It all kicks off again about 10.30am for mid morning snacks, coffee and on into lunch - especially on UberEATS right through untill 1pm and at that point we cruise until closing at 3pm. We make sure to use quality ingredients like Twin Peaks Coffee Roasters (based in Morley) and Holy Bagel Co. Bagels. We have a fiercly loyal customer base - some dont drink coffee on Mondays because we're not open and they just wont go anywhere esle. Most come into the shop more than once a day. In terms of the retail space we sell, build, service and repair bicycles. Ranging from Single speed / Fixed gear bikes to 8 speed commuters and electric bikes. We're a small space so we only keep half a dozen (give or take) of bikes in the shop at any one time. On a day to day basis we might sell a bike, service a bike or two and perform a couple of puncture repairs or tube replacements. It's not a super busy side of the business but keeps things interesting. A new owner could take over the business as is or replace the bicycles with anything they'd prefer to sell or offer in the retail space. This combined space makes our business very unique as theres always something going on, always something to do and gives us a broad range of customers to interact with. This business is a great investment for an owner / operator looking to carve their own path and be their own boss. Theres a lot of ways you could take this business. Expand the bicycle range and offering or remove it and replace it. Throw in a full kitchen in the back room (we use it for storage and bicycle workshop) and add more seating and you've got a perfect size full service cafe. Expand the food offering and you'll definitely expand your customer base even further. Keep the bagels though, we're doing 350 - 400 bagels per week, every week. They're a crowd favourite and we're known for it. That and great, cosistent coffee!
Two friends with a love for coffee and riding bicycles is where this all began. Fed up with our jobs and looking to start our own thing, carve out our own path and take on a new challenge. We coined the idea, over a couple of beers, of combining a space for both our loves - bikes and coffee. Influenced from shops we'd seen in London, the US and Japan, we came up with an idea which we thought could work here in Perth. Get Ya Fix was born. 4 years later and it's been a wild ride but definitely rewarding and a become a business we're proud of!
