With over 10,000 schools in Australia, each spending $1-3M per year on resources, this business could go as far as you'd like.
- Understanding of how the education system works.
- Understanding of how purchasing decisions are made within schools.
As many as you put in!
Small enough (for now) to fit stock at hand in your garage.

Starting full-time University studies next year, so looking for someone who has more available time to focus on this. Since starting I have sold over $8,000 mainly to schools (also retail) all through the online store. I have dedicated little time to sales and marketing, mainly spent time setting up procurement of high quality products, but the potential for growth is enourmous.
Head over to https://stemroo.au/ to see what we do!
In summary:
- STEMROO provides educational resources (in the form of wooden STEM kits) to schools (private & public) in Australia and New Zealand. Each kit is designed to demonstrate and teach a very specific scientific principle in a fun, hands-on way.
- These kits have been used in 100+ schools, in classrooms and clubs. It's fun and educational not only for the student but also for the teacher!
- One of the biggest advantages STEMROO has is that it sells to schools - this means large, re-occuring orders for potentially hundreds of students from one single school.
- Around 100 STEM kit models classified into 10 categories like Aerodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Electricity, Magnetism,...
- Workbook templates for several models
-----------------------------------------------------
A little history:
Started the business 18 months ago when I bought some STEM kits online to sell at a local market.
The kits were an absolute success - everyone loved them! One of the first buyers was a teacher looking for projects for her students - this is what sparked the idea of wholesaling.
Spent the next month setting up a proper online store and getting great photos of all the kits, and launched stemroo.au mid 2024.
After some basic email marketing, generated around $6,000 in sales in the first couple of months, and just kept reinvesting the money back into the business.
Feedback from customers lead me to spend some time refining the product, and at the end of 2024 STEMROO kits were re-launched with additional educational materials, and also a subscription-based sales model that streamlined the purchasing process for teachers.
During 2025 I have focused on my studies (starting Engineering in Feb 2026), and haven't been dedicating STEMROO the time it deserves. As much as I'd love to focus full time on the success of the business, I have to prioritise my further education.
I am looking for a buyer (or potentially a partner) to take STEMROO to the next level. I am open to negotiating a financed purchase/partnership with the right person.
If that's you, let me know!
