Having established Foliar in 2020 as one of the first tenants of Colwill place, I've enjoyed the last 3 years building the brand online and at the space woth our team. It’s now time for me to give all my focus back to my first business, The Borrowed Nursey.
About the Business
Our beautiful bunches are hand picked and made especially for you daily. A distinctive style, showcasing focal blooms over filler, our process is careful and considered. A selection of gifts are available both in store and online including candles, vases and gift cards.
The tenancy that Foliar occupies is 14sqm upon securing the tenancy back in 2020, we completed a fit out to the value of $30 000 that included custom joinery, tiling and painting. The sink has access to cold water only, we have a kettle in the tenancy along with a small shelf for storage. The space is fitted with its own split system air conditioner. The custom cabinetry is designed with multiple storage compartments, cupboards and drawers to fit assorted papers and other sundries. Overhead cabinets provide plenty of space to store and display vases and a range of stock or retail items.
Located just down from the shopfront in the main building is a separate storage shed. This offers 20sqm of additional space and is where the fridge is located along with storage for sundries and other stock. This space also offers room for an additional workspace. All elements including the fridge, shelving and stock are included in the price of the sale. It is currently on the Borrowed nursery lease but will be transferred onto the Foliar lease to the new owner.
Also on the borrowed nursery lease is exclusivity to sell flowers. Upon acceptance of an offer this will be removed from this lease and added to the lease of foliar for the new owner.
The Borrowed Nursery was the first business to sign on at Colwill place in 2020. At that time, the tenancy of what would become Foliar was also available. With extremely competitive rent, it was a great opportunity to expand and compliment the nursery business, creating a sepatrate brand for florals.
